The term teacup dogs are a term that is not very appreciated among dog enthusiasts such as the ones for the Chihuahua Club of America. Teacup dogs are usually referred to an unusually very small dog, which in this case is the Chihuahua. The Chihuahua is a small dog that comes in to variety of coats. This could either be a long coat, or a smooth coat. This is the only variation to identify the difference within this breed. The American Kennel Club includes the Chihuahua as well as nineteen other small dogs as being a toy breed of dogs.

Just as any other type of breed of toy dogs, the size can vary between dogs to dog. For example, Families who consists of brothers of sister are all related, but yet they have different sizes. The teacup dog of the group refers to the puppy that is abnormally small for its kind. It is true that many dog fanciers want to have the very small puppy, but there are some factors they do need to take into consideration. These teacup dogs may come with some health problems. Because of its small size, it may require extra care for its health and general well being.
