Dog TricksDogs can be heaps of fun. When they don’t listen to you, they can become very frustrating though. There are a couple of dog tricks that you can teach your dog so he can obey your commands. The dog tricks are pretty simple to teach and for the dog to learn. Once your dog has these commands down pack, it will make your life a lot easier. The first command you should teach your dog is the sit command. You should first get some of your dog’s favorite treats whatever they might be. The treats will help to get your dogs attention and to entice your dog to listen to you. Hold one of the treats out to your dog so he can smell it but not eat it. With a firm grip on the doggie treat, with a firm voice say “sit”. The first time the dog hears the dog tricks, you must first show them what you are talking about. You can do this by giving a back end a little nudge towards the ground with a firm pal. Once the dog finally does the dog tricks, praise the dog and give him the dog treat. It is important for you to repeat the steps over and over again until the dog begins to associate obeying the command with getting the treat and verbal praise. Once the dog understands the dog tricks, discontinue the use of the dog treats as an incentive. Try only verbal praises instead of dog treats. Give him treats for only every few tricks instead of each time. You do not want your dog to do dog tricks only because he knows he will get something out of it. With much time and patience, you and your dog will be able to accomplish even more dog tricks and show them off to your friends and family. |
