Dog Obedience Training

Sometimes it may become necessary to have your child to go to dog obedience training. The proper dog obedience training is to make sure that is proper reinforcement. You must be patient and avoid harsh punishment. If you are not doing your own dog obedience training, find an appropriate place that will train your dog for you.

Enroll your dog in a basic dog obedience training class that learn certain commands such as “heel”, “sit”, and “stay”. When your dog has learned these commands, be sure to praise him. Always say “good job”, or give him a friendly pat on the head. When you acknowledge him by praising him, this shows proper behavior and you can even give him a doggie treat.

In the beginning stages of dog obedience training, increase your expectations slowly. Gradually increase the length of time your dog must sit before you show him praise. Even if your dog gives the slightest evidence of trying to be obedient, you should praise him. Once your dog gets the hang of the simple beginning commands, you can then go on with your dog obedience training. Teach him new commands, and it’s okay to have fun with it. It is best when you train throughout the day when ever you have some free time to devote to the training. This should be done in a quiet area away from any distractions.

Once your dog begins to obey your commands in the quiet environment, begin to train him in a busier environment. Don’t feel discouraged though is your dog seems to forget all of its dog obedience training though. Sometimes you may have to start from scratch, dogs are situational learners. With great patience and determination, training your dog will be successful. It is a great chance to spend time with your beloved creature.
